Ramana Health & Educational Development Society has conducted disabled welfare Program for the welfare of child health & education. The project is aimed at addressing the Disability problem in India. The project encompasses a cluster of 10 villages in Kurnool district in Adoni constituency. The area is rain fed and also houses some of the big industries. The people living in this area work in farms, coffee estates, hotels, garages, fisheries, jaggery processing units or as workers in small scale industries for low wages without any incentives and other facilities. Adults are forced to migrate in search of employment to earn their bread. The migration of their children with them generates dropouts from school. After dropping out of school, children are forced to work with their parents, some of them working in coffee plantations and bricks making, or as agricultural/domestic workers to supplement income for the family.

Youth Empowerment:

Youth Empowerment Program is an employment and training program for youth, ages 18-21, which is initiated by our organization Ramana Health & Educational Development Society. RAMANA HEALTH & EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY helps students prepare material as well as build occupational skills that will provide a more stable future. The program also works on building life skills as a way of enhancing self esteem and empowering youth to be self sufficient. Though academic success and job placement are goals for each student, the program assesses the individual needs of each student to see what will help him or her reaches her highest potential and raise her personal standards.

This community action program believes that in order to most effectively help those in need, an agency must provide services that address all of a family’s or individual’s needs. We decided they wanted to offer services to youth in the city and created the Youth Empowerment Program. In our third cycle, we follow the same mindset of trying to provide all services needed for someone to be successful.
